Who We Are
We are a small, family run company with a passion for cycling, nature and adventure. We’re on a mission to make bikepacking trips the new norm for a weekend escape, sending people home rosy cheeked and re-energised.
We hope what we do will have a positive impact on the planet and on the people we come into contact with along the way, by inspiring people to enjoy our wild places by bike – a more sustainable way to travel – and by supporting local businesses. Not to mention the benefits that adventuring into nature can have on your physical and mental health.
Meet The Team
Based in South West Wales, we’re on hand to help you prepare, answer your questions and will be in the general vicinity should you need support during your trip.Joe – Founder, route planner, back up support
Since coming last in his first mountain bike race in 1994, Joe’s passion for cycling grew and 5 years later he was a member of Team GB. After throwing in the race kit to travel the world, Joe has lived a life of adventure, having led multiple youth expeditions around the world, chaperoned journalists through Africa, run technical recces in the high Andean mountains and dragged almost all his friends on numerous bike trips around the globe.
Gabrielle – Nature facilitator, back up support
Gabrielle knows firsthand, how powerful Mother Nature is in soothing the soul, calming the mind and balancing the body. Having spent much of her childhood summers swimming in rivers in France, Gabrielle is always on the lookout for a new wild spot to dip in. She previously worked in the wine industry whilst teaching some yoga on the side, and more recently embarked on her journey to becoming a Forest Bathing guide (as well as being mama to their baby Georgia).
Our Story
On returning home from an 8 month road trip around Europe, we reflected on how our favourite moments were the countless bikepacking trips we had along the way. Taking a break from the highway and heading off route for a few days on our bikes gave us an insight into the countries we were travelling through that we missed from behind the wheel of our van. On our bikes, we felt like more than a passer-by, we were temporarily part of the scenery.
We never really travelled very far, taking time to soak up the views, jump in a river or chat to a bemused local. Moving on each day gave us purpose and meant that we saw so much more, when we arrived back at our van after only a few days it felt like we had been away for a week. We were already seasoned cyclists, yet something about the slow pace of these trips really drove home how much we loved the simplicity and the limitless freedom to explore, that bikepacking gave us.
We understand people are busy and may not have the time, knowledge or kit needed to plan a trip like this for themselves, so we set out to recreate the experiences we had for others to enjoy. To make it even better, we would do it in one of our favourite corners on the planet, Wales. With its quiet roads, stunning scenery and cosy pubs, Wales is the perfect place for a bikepacking trip.
It was important to us that these trips maintained the sense of freedom and exploration we had experienced, which is why our trips are self-guided and self supported. We provide the bike, kit, route, accommodation and knowledge, leaving you free to pedal your own adventure, with the peace of mind you’re using the best kit, have everything you need and support is there if you need it.
Responsible Travel
Ensuring we and our customers have a low and positive impact on the environment, as well as the communities our adventures pass through, is at the core of what we do. Travelling by bike is one of the most environmentally friendly and sustainable ways to explore our wild places, but travelling responsibly goes beyond the form of transport we choose. From the equipment we provide, to the pubs we recommend, the climate, environment and community are considered at every stage when planning your adventure. What We Are Doing
